Expedition
The ANI South Pole Quest Expedition consists of people from five different nations; Canada, United Kingdom, Lebanon, Switzerland and Norway.
Devon McDiarmid from Whitehorse, Canada will be leading the team in their atempt to ski more than 700 miles without support from the coast of Antarctica to the geographical South Pole. Devon is a part time guide with experience in Antarctica. He is also the owner of a bike store in his hometown. Evelyn Shrinak became the first Swiss woman to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. She is a mountain guide and a former helicopter pilot. Maxime Chaya from Lebanon was part of a Discovery Channel documentary following an expedition to Mt. Everest becoming the first person from his country to achieve this feat. Max has also completed the Seven Summits( highest mountain on every continent ). Dubai resident Adrian Hayes from the UK has also summited Everest. In April of this year he also completed a fifty day expedition from Canada to the North Pole.  Hans Foss was born in Norway and moved to the United States in 1986. He was part of a Norwegian expedition on a 600 km crossing of Greenland in 2002. A pilot for American Airlines where he flies the Boeing 767.
The expedition will start from a place called Hercules Inlet on the Ronne Ice Shelf. Each member will pull a sled weighing roughly 250 lbs for 720 miles and reach the South Pole in about fifty days. Only fifty-seven people has ever accomplished this feat worldwide.
